We often hold on to paper because there is more to it than just the print. Paper holds vast emotional attachments and personal value because it represents significance. “If I have this piece of paper, then I will have the knowledge. Even if I haven’t read it, I can someday.”
The paper piles can begin to erode our home’s ability to function. They begin to creep onto the kitchen or dining room table making it impossible to have a family meal. Piles can obstruct our hallways, making it a hazard walking up and down the stairs. But more importantly, it is the relationships within these homes that suffer. We can also think about our clothes (or anything else for that matter) as manna. God supplied the Israelites with the food they needed for the day. Scripture also recounts God telling the Israelites not to worry about what to wear… that | |
He would supply their needs for that too.
That promise is true for us as well. He will supply our needs when we need them. We often don’t realize the abundant blessings and wonderful provisions He has for us because we hang on to the old stuff out of fear. Trust that He will supply, and toss the old to make room for the BETTER!
