Testimonials for Eileen Koff, CPO - Certified Professional Organizer® - To The Next Level |
|
"Dear Amy-
"We are happy to write you about Eileen Koff.
Both of us are musicians and teachers; Dorothea Cook is a violinist who teaches in the Community Music Programs at Stony Brook University, at the Knox School, and has a private violin teaching studio; Peter Winkler is a composer and professor in the music department at Stony Brook.
We live in an old house filled with the residue of many years of family life. We had read many books about organizing, but we really needed the hands-on experience of working with a wise and thoughtful professional to turn our good intentions into reality.
We met Eileen Koff at an open house at Innovative Nutrition, the health store in Setauket, and quickly decided that she was what we had been looking for. Eileen doesn't do your organizing for you. She is a teacher, and a very good one. One of her important lessons is that it's not just about organizing things. We are learning from her that to be organized, you have to understand yourself, your values, what you love, and what your true priorities are. Sorting all that out isn't always easy, and it can require some serious soul-searching.
The organizing process involves both tangible and intangible things; it involves time-management as well as decisions about what to throw out, what to keep, and where things go.
Like all good teachers, Eileen can sometimes makes you a bit uncomfortable, as she challenges your old habits and ways of doing things. But as she says, it takes the eyes of a stranger to help you see your surroundings as they truly are.
The transformation of our house will not happen overnight, but Eileen is teaching us skills that we will be using for many years to come. Best, -- Dorothea Cook and Peter Winkler |
"It has been a year since I first heard you speak at my Church Mothers Group.
I instantly knew you could help me get out from under the paper prison I was in! I knew I needed extra help, so I attended your paper clutter seminar and armed with your easy to implement solutions, I went to work.
I now have a system that I still depend on a year later. I am moving in a month and so many times in these past months I have said "I know exactly where that is" and there it was. Receipts, appliance warranty's, the house deed, you showed me how to create place for everything.
Thank You for sharing your gift with the rest of us! I look forward to having your expertise as we set up my new home."

"After my divorce, I had an organizational nightmare on my hands. I had moved to a new location and was starting graduate school. I had many boxes of unorganized papers, files, and books to sort out, and a long list of things to do.
I was overwhelmed at the daunting task ahead of me, and after finding Eileen's website, I decided to give her a call. Right from the start she provided exactly the kind of assistance that I needed.
After only a few sessions of sorting and organizing together, I was able to complete the work on my own, sort through and eliminate all of the non-essential things that were cluttering up my life, and properly organize the the things I needed to hold on to. Eileen introduced me to a basic yet powerful system that I have worked into my everyday routine in order to keep not just my files, but my entire life organized.
I recently had a professor comment on one of my research papers that my argument was 'extremely well organized.' I had to smile at that, knowing that I had incorporated the same ideas that Eileen taught me while organizing my home into writing that paper. I got an A on that assignment, and in my book, Eileen gets an A+.
I can't thank her enough for all of her help, and I highly recommend her services." - Don, Bay Shore, NY |
"I was a bit reluctant to hire an organizer to help me do what I believed I could do myself. It felt overly indulgent.
But to my surprise, having just one session with Eileen helped me to see that her services were invaluable. I needed someone to be witness to my choas and help me get myself back in order.
Organizing the outside of my life, really helped to calm down the inside. The most amazing change is that after six or so weeks, things still look neat and each item has a place. We started in my bathroom and now when I walk in, I don't have the overwhelming, 'How can I possible tame this stuff' feeling. Rather, I walk in and I sigh with relief!" - Harriette Rovner Ferguson

"Dear Eileen: We want to thank you for your invaluable help in getting our house ready for putting on the market. You were so good about getting dirty, along with me, setting up the kitchen to look less cluttered.
The list of “to-do’s” was also very helpful. We made our master bedroom look much more appealing and the king-size bed idea was great.
We put the house on the market last February (right after Super Bowl weekend), and had an offer the next day. That was very encouraging, but we did not take the first offer. Thankfully, two days later, a young couple with two children came to look, and fell in love with the house.
We highly recommend hiring a pro, especially to get started. Thirty nine years of stuff and clutter makes moving nightmarish. We took your advice and cleaned out the cellar and painted the floor and walls. Since the house is 105 years old, it was dramatic to have it so clean.
Our real estate agent remarked that he never saw a house so well prepared to sell.
Thank you again! Sincerely," - Philip & Sally Snyder |
"Eileen, Having you here to work with Dylan was so worthwhile!
His disorganization was having a very negative effect on his grades in school. He always was losing papers he needed to study, losing homework and project assignments, and then being surprised at school when the teacher wanted to collect an assignment. Having you help him organize his room will help him control his stuff, and his life!
I've spent a fortune these past few months hoping that Huntington Learning Center could help with his school organization problems. But when his report card arrived last week, he'd nearly failed several subjects, so I quit that program and called you.
Dylan is so happy, even relieved right now, after only two hours working with you. He was attentive to the concepts you taught him, has systems in place now for homework and school supplies, and even his guitars, music sheets and accessories have their place and their system.
Thank you!" - P. Coburn

"My ex-husband and I downsized from a 4 bedroom French Colonial home in Rockville Maryland to a two bedroom Town Home.
I did a reasonable job sorting and disposing of items until it came to our office/library. I counted my wealth not by the balance of the bank account but by the number of wonderful books and our new small office looked like a library after a bomb.
Enter Eileen Koff! Eileen and I were friends and I always admired her clarity of what was and wasn't an "issue" and the peaceful atmosphere she always brought with her. She took one look at the library and like a master in her realm, in a "matter of fact" manner directed what needed to stay, go or store! With Eileen's help it all seemed so clear when only moments before I was drowning in publishers and paper!
I urge you to take advantage of Eileen's talent and charming demeanor. It will bring peace to your world!" - Diane U.

"I am at the most peaceful I have ever been in my life, and I could not have achieved this without the professional support and guidance I have received from Ms. Eileen Koff. Ms. Koff uses a golden scythe to cut through a jungle of clutter and utter disorganization to clear a path and lead the way to organization. I've desired this achievement my entire life and can honestly say I have attained it, thanks to Eileen.
Ms. Koff is compassionate and truly understands the struggle that a person suffering from the effects of disorganization is experiencing. It impacts your life in so many ways, you don't even know it. It's as if I was blind and was given the ability to see. I felt paralyzed in my own home. The arteries of my home were clogged for years, and I can now feel the release of energy throughout my house. I have learned concepts and principles that will be useful to me the rest of my life, and my children will benefit from this as well. They already have, in countless ways, benefited as a direct result of hiring Ms. Koff.
For years I have yearned for organization that I thought was within my reach. I tried reading every book, article, and web site about organization, hoping to grasp the understanding it takes to be organized. There is no substitute for the one on one lessons learned directly from Eileen. She will show you the way. You will benefit from her years of experience and knowledge.
The investment in hiring Ms. Koff is worth beyond the cost. I could never place a price on the peacefulness I feel, the skills I have learned, and the ability to find things in my own home. We worked together to create a place for everything and everything in its place. I always dreamed of hiring a professional organizer. I have had a dream come true! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Ms. Koff is dedicated to her profession and is an asset to the National Association of Professional Organizers. If you are considering hiring a Professional Organizer, look no further, and waste no more time. I understand what a difficult step it is that you are considering, but if you make the leap like I did, I believe you will not regret it. It is a transformation that you will welcome and enjoy. Thank you, Eileen!" - By Kathleen A. Ryan

"What can I say about a woman who touches lives with such poignancy? A woman who exudes equal amounts of technique and compassion…a perfect combination of professionalism and down-to-earth charm… Eileen was there for me when I desperately needed to get my home to the way I always wanted it to be. I’d often spoken about and planned to get the house organized, but not until Eileen stepped in was I able to turn my words into actions. Eileen demonstrated a remarkable ability to survey the scene, spend some time discussing my objectives, and then envision a plan that would allow me to restructure old habits that were keeping me from achieving my goals. It was a real bonus for me when I starting enjoying a kitchen that I had avoided for 15 years. (And my teenage daughter was able to start preparing wonderful family meals!) My living room, once piled high with papers and cartons, became a sanctuary for socializing and reflection. Through her organizational prowess, Eileen encouraged me to enjoy what was right in front of me all along. As a physician, I can best compare the experience of working with Eileen to a pain-free triple by-pass surgery—my body, mind, and soul were finally unclogged and able to flow freely. In short, Eileen entered my house and helped me transform it into a wonderful home for myself and my family." - Amy Gardner ***************** "We wanted to build a fire like when we were young, roasting marshmallows and enjoy s’mores and sitting around and playing games…this holiday season our parents surprised us and had the house organized, so it was all possible! Sure they take the credit, but we know that Eileen was the reason it all came together! Eileen had a knack for giving our whole family the confidence to live how we really want to—as an organized but still spontaneous bunch. And it’s a great bonus as three sisters to have awesome rooms now that we can leave messy but still know where things are to un-clutter our minds—Thank you Eileen!" - The Gardner Girls |
"Good morning Eileen-
I know it's early morning ... but had in my heart to just go to on the “To The Next Level” website and blog and just read the wealth of information you have on it and I fell upon your story of Samuel and JaJa and I was truly touched.
Why?
These children were abandoned and alone in an austere environment, but they still have gifts that we, that have plenty, DON’T exercise easily: fortitude, generosity, compassion, and creativity.
I came across the donation lantern and remembered that I have been wanting to buy those beautiful solar lanterns, but, was just too distracted to just make the purchase in the past.
Well, I know my left hand is not to know what the right hand does, so I made the lantern donation and will buy the beads on our next visit.
I am always happy when you come over for our sessions because I just feel so uplifted, mentally “lighter”, and encouraged. Despite not feeling well and so ridden with worries mulling over on how Rod and I going to handle another baby on top of the many responsibilities we have and being consumed in my own problems.
Just before you left today, you gave me yet another spiritual golden nugget of wisdom you learned, you told me that true spiritual discernment can only come when your mind and heart is in a clutter free/distraction free ( free of evil spirits) environment, and it made me think.
When the earthy realm (our physical space) is organized, that area allows one to be stress free and think properly, this also works in the spiritual realm. My worries and concerns were so jumbled together , I needed the time to organize them by priorities. If I lay them before the Lord, pray effectively over them, address them piece by piece in a timely manner, and remember "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness", I will see God’s way through this. I am doing that and honestly I feel better and hopeful.
After you left, I finally told my mom that Rod and I are expecting again, she of course, expressed her worries, but she told me that the level of organizing that I have exhibited these 3 months, having the baby wont be as stressful if all things work out well for me.
Your work transcends earthy functions and really connects spiritually. You have given me an education that I will never depart from, Once again thank you and may God bless you always."
